On September 17, 1911 the handsome new William F. Fox School was dedicated. During its first two years of existence, Fox also housed a training school for teachers, believed to be the first of it’s kind, for students who had completed four years of high school.

As the jewel of the historic Fan District, William Fox is dedicated to providing the richest education to enable and empower young people to develop creative, inquisitive minds; strong healthy bodies; and caring, compassionate hearts.

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment is a process that allows parents of Richmond Public School students the opportunity to request up to two schools, which are “out-of-zone.” “Out-of-zone” refers to a school that is located outside of the school zone where the student resides. During William Fox’s Open Enrollment period, any parent, or guardian, interested in having their child attend an “out-of-zone” school for the following school year may fill out the Open Enrollment request form. Students currently attending an “out-of-zone” school must complete the Intent to Return form and submit the form to the Office of Pupil Personnel Services prior to the Open Enrollment period.
