A Richmond festival favorite – the Strawberry Street Festival celebrates its 40th year on May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at William Fox Elementary, 2300 Hanover Avenue.
Enjoy games and crafts, inflatables for the kids, dunk tanks, local vendors and artists, food, and performances by bluegrass band Uncle Drew and the Powhite Boys, the Fox Children’s Choir and the Binford Middle School Dance Company. New activities this year: laser tag and a video game truck.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this much beloved community event, this year’s special celebration logo was created by renowned artist Ed Trask for the festival t-shirts and souvenirs. Strawberry shortcake and chocolate dipped strawberries will be available for purchase, as well as local BBQ. This year’s raffle prizes include gift certificates and prizes from local businesses, with the top prize being a MacBook Air. (Visit https://go.rallyup.com/fox2019 to get your tickets!)
All proceeds from the Strawberry Street Festival go directly to the PTA, which uses the funds for improvement projects around the school, enrichment programs for students, and support and supplies for teachers and staff.
There’s never been a more fun way to support the children in your own neighborhood. Can’t wait to see you there!
